Bradford Regional Medical Center has announced that Glenn E. Irwin Jr, MD, will return to Bradford later this fall, joining Bradford Regional Medical Services.

Dr. Irwin will be part of BRMS Primary Care Services and locating his office adjacent to BRMC in the Medical Arts Building, 195 Pleasant St., Suite # 5.

Dr. Irwin is familiar with the region and BRMC, having served as an attending physician in private practice at the hospital from 1992 to 1997 and again from 2005 to 2010. He was formerly director of emergency medicine at BRMC.

“I am thrilled to return to Bradford and to Bradford Regional Medical Center,” Dr. Irwin said. “This is a wonderful community with a great need for primary care services.”

Dr. Irwin is board certified and a diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

“We are fortunate to have a physician with Dr. Irwin’s breadth of experience returning to Bradford,” said Timothy J. Finan, president and chief executive officer, Upper Allegheny Health System and BRMC. “Recruiting primary care physicians is a critical need for rural communities like Bradford and we know people are truly excited that he will be with BRMC as part of Bradford Regional Medical Services.”

Dr. Irwin is a graduate of the Milton S. Hershey School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. He completed an internship and residency at Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis, Minn.

Dr. Irwin is expected to see patients in Bradford in October. Patients may make an appointment by calling 362-5701.
