The Center For Diabetes and Nutrition Education offers a wide range of educational support services for individuals with diabetes and their families. These services include:
- Individual and group classes to teach diabetes self-management skills.
- A personalized meal plan with individual and group instruction in food selection, portion control, and how to read nutritional content labels.
- Nutrition education
The Center also offers lessons on how diabetes medications work and how to correctly draw up and inject insulin. Additionally, the highly trained staff offers assistance in the conversion to insulin pump therapy including carbohydrate counting, pre-pump instruction, pump start up and pump follow-ups.
