Betters Breathers Club to meet July 26

Posted on: 07/14/2017

Bradford Regional Medical Center’s Breathe Easy pulmonary support group will get a breath of fresh air and a name change.

Moving forward, the support group will be known as the American Lung Association’s Better Breathers Club of Bradford. The group started in 2014 for those with COPD, pulmonary fibrosis and lung cancer and their caregivers, according to Amy Pascarella, RRT, respiratory therapy clinical supervisor, BRMC, who leads the group and is an American Lung Association-trained facilitator. “These adult support groups give people the tools they need to live the best quality of life they can,” she said.

Meetings feature a guest speaker and are held at 1:30 p.m., the last Wednesday of each month at the Bradford Public Library and are free and open to the public.

July’s speaker will be Nicole Texido, territory manager, Apria Healthcare, who will present “Transitioning home from a medical facility. Are you prepared?” at 1:30 p.m., July 26.

For more information, call the BRMC cardiopulmonary department at 814/362-8296.
