Upper Allegheny Alzheimer Support Group – 5:30 p.m., Aug. 6, Bradford Area Public Library. Alzheimer’s Association caregiver support groups are conducted by trained facilitators for caregivers, family and friends of those with dementia to develop a support system, exchange practical information on caregiving challenges and possible solutions, talk through issues and ways of coping, share feelings, needs and concerns and learn about community resources. Lactation Station breastfeeding support group – 6 p.m., Aug. 7, 15, WIC office, Bradford Regional Medical Center. This support group offers mom-to-mom support for pregnant, breastfeeding moms, and dads and will meet from 6 to 7 p.m., the first Tuesday and third Wednesday of each month at BRMC’s WIC office. Sleep Disorders Support Group – 5:30 p.m., Aug. 8, Outpatient Service Center, Suite 33, Bradford Regional Medical Center. The sleep support group is an informative meeting, usually led by a guest speaker discussing a variety of subjects concerning obstructive sleep apnea and equipment. A registered polysomnographer is also present to answer any questions regarding sleep apnea. For additional information 814/362-8732.

Diabetes Self-Management Training Group Classes - 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Aug. 8, 16, 23, Center for Diabetes and Nutrition Education office, Bradford Regional Medical Center. Each class covers different diabetes-related topics. A physician's referral is required to attend. Many insurances cover the cost. For more information, call 814/362-8717.

Friends and Family CPR – 6-8 p.m., Aug. 15, classroom B, Bradford Regional Medical Center. This course is for those ages 10 and up; does not provide a course completion card. For information, call 814/362-8637.

Basic Life Support for Medical Providers – 8 a.m.- 3:30 p.m., Aug. 27, Education Center Classroom B, third floor, Bradford Regional Medical Center. To register, call 716/375-6217.

Grief Relief Support Group – 4 p.m., Aug. 28, Bradford Area Public Library. This group offers a friendly environment of caring people who will walk alongside those who are dealing with one of life’s most difficult experiences. The support group provides information and strategies to best deal with grief. For more information, call 814/362-8288.

Look Good Feel Better – 4 p.m., Aug. 28, Bradford Regional Medical Center’s oncology library. The Look Good Feel Better workshop is free and facilitated by trained cosmetologists who teach women with cancer how to understand and care for changes in skin and hair that may occur during treatment. The American Cancer Society’s program is offered in partnership with the National Cosmetology Association and The Personal Care Products Council Foundation. Pre-registration is required. Better Breathers Club, formerly Breathe Easy Pulmonary Support Group – 1:30 p.m., Aug. 29, Bradford Area Public Library. This support group is for those with breathing issues and their friends/family. State Rep.
