Unyts blood drive – 10 a.m.- 3 p.m., Aug. 5, Education Room B, Bradford Regional Medical Center. Donors will be entered to win two Buffalo Bills pre-season tickets. Due to recent traumas and a decrease in donations this summer, Unyts is urging the community to donate blood. Demand at hospitals has increased and a strong turnout by donors is critical to ensure blood is available for patients when the need arises. Upper Allegheny Alzheimer Support Group – 5:30 p.m., Aug. 5, Bradford Area Public Library. Alzheimer’s Association caregiver support groups are conducted by trained facilitators for caregivers, family and friends of those with dementia to develop a support system, exchange practical information on caregiving challenges and possible solutions, talk through issues and ways of coping, share feelings, needs and concerns and learn about community resources. Lactation Station breastfeeding support group – 6-7 p.m., Aug. 6, WIC office, and 10 a.m., Aug. 20, Bradford Public Library. This support group offers mom-to-mom support for pregnant, breastfeeding moms, and dads and will meet from 6 to 7 p.m., the first Tuesday of each month at the WIC office at Bradford Regional Medical Center and from 10-11 a.m., the third Tuesday of each month at the Bradford Public Library. Diabetes Self-Management Training Group Classes - 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Aug. 8, 15, 22, Center for Diabetes and Nutrition Education office, Bradford Regional Medical Center. Each class covers different diabetes-related topics. A physician's referral is required to attend. Many insurances cover the cost. For more information, call 814/362-8717.

Basic Life Support for Medical Providers – 8 – 11:30 a.m., Aug. 13, Education Center Classroom B, third floor, Bradford Regional Medical Center. To register, call 814/368-2056.

Friends and Family CPR – 1-2:30 p.m., Aug. 13, classroom B, Bradford Regional Medical Center. This course is for those ages 10 and up; does not provide a course completion card. For information, call 814/368-2056.

Sleep Disorder Support Group – 5:30 p.m., Aug. 14, Outpatient Services Center, Suite 33, Bradford Regional Medical Center. The sleep support group is an informative meeting, usually led by a guest speaker, to discuss a variety of subjects concerning obstructive sleep apnea and equipment. A registered polysomnographer is also present to answer any questions regarding sleep apnea. The support group is free and open to the community. For more information, call 814/362-8732.

Grief Relief Support Group – 4 p.m., Aug. 27, Bradford Area Public Library. This group offers a friendly environment of caring people who will walk alongside those who are dealing with one of life’s most difficult experiences. The support group provides information and strategies to best deal with grief. For more information, call 814/362-8288.

Mocktail Party – 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Aug. 28, main lobby, Bradford Regional Medical Center. BRMC is partnering with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to highlight the dangers of impaired driving ahead of Labor Day weekend. The event, free and open to the public, will feature “mocktails,” a selfie station where people pledge to drive sober on social media, a driving simulator to test a driver’s skills while drunk or distracted and PennDOT personnel and drug recognition experts from the PA DUI Association.

Better Breathers Club – 1:30 p.m., Aug. 28, Bradford Area Public Library. This support group is for those with breathing issues and friends/family with breathing issues. Those attending are reminded to bring action/management plans for review. For more information, call 814/362-8296.
