BRMC dedicates Zenaide Schnaffner Still Oncology Suite

Posted on: 06/10/2016

Bradford Regional Medical Center dedicated the Zenaide Schaffner Still Oncology Suite Friday.

The suite is named in honor of Zenaide Still, who along with her husband, Dr. George Still, and children have been long time hospital and community benefactors. The Stills, and their five children, Kathryn, George, Christopher, William and Andrew, spent many years in Bradford while Dr. Still served patients at BRMC for 40 years. Their impact on the Bradford community remains today.

Kathryn Still, long time BRMC Foundation board member, is also establishing an honorary fund in her mother’s name to support the ongoing needs for cancer care at BRMC, according to Francie Ambuske, executive director of development, BRMC.

“This new fund, along with the Still family’s George Still, MD, Cardiology Fund, which was established in 2000, speaks to the enduring support the family has given to Bradford Regional Medical Center,” Ambuske said. Currently, upgrades and improvements, including new TVs for each patient station, are materializing as this new suite is unveiled, which is also possible due to support from the annual Miles for Smiles road race and McKinley Oncology Fund, she said.

“Zenaide Still has an unmatched love and concern for Bradford and, in particular, our community hospital where her husband served as a champion physician for four decades. It is an honor for us to carry on Zenaide and George Still’s names. We thank the family members for their ongoing support over the years,” Ambuske said.
