BRMC honors volunteers

Bradford Regional Medical Center honored its volunteers for their time and service to the hospital during a luncheon May 16 at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.

The hospital recognized 111 active volunteers who donated over 24,000 hours of their time and service over the last year.

“Our volunteers matter. They make a difference. Their willingness to give selflessly to help others speaks to both their strength and the quality of their character. We recognize their volunteerism which is appreciated, valued and cherished,” said Stacy Shotts Williams, director, volunteer services, community outreach, BRMC.

In addition to recognizing all of BRMC’s volunteers, special recognition was given to those celebrating anniversaries: 25 years – Tammy Comilla; 15 years – George Bay, Richard Gatesman, Martha Vecellio; 10 years – Kathy Good, David Lee, Bonnie Lowe, the Rev. Joann Piatko, Robbie Yonushonis; five years – Pastor Matthew Blake, Mary Colella, Jeanne Lowe, Susan O’Rourke, George Santora, Marlene Walb, Mary Sue Yablonski.

Volunteers of all ages and abilities provide a variety of services for the hospital including patient escorts, surgical liaison, gift shop, mail delivery, runners and much more. For more information on volunteer opportunities at BRMC, contact Williams, swilliams@brmc.com or 362-8288.
