Timothy J. Finan, president, chief executive officer, Upper Allegheny Health System, Bradford Regional Medical Center, second from left, accepts a $5,000 check from Elsie Benson, president, Current Events Club of Bradford, during a luncheon March 4. The donation will go toward the club’s recently established fund at BRMC. Finan also spoke at the luncheon on “The plight of rural hospitals in America,” outlining the importance of rural hospitals, the local perspective and the financial challenges it presents. Also pictured, are, at left, Paul Ridley, vice chairman, Bradford Hospital Foundation, and, at right, Francie Ambuske, executive director, BH Foundation. “The club has a 100-year tradition of supporting the community and the hospital is so appreciative to carry on the Current Events Club name now and in the future. Their generosity as a group of community minded women with a purpose to serve is noted throughout the region,” Ambuske said.
