Dr. Fiorentino appointed to UAHS board

Upper Allegheny Health System (UAHS) elected Lisa Fiorentino, Ph.D, R.N., to the health system’s Board of Directors at its February 24 meeting. Dr. Fiorentino is Director of the Center for Rural Health Practice at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. She will also serve on the Board of Directors at Olean General Hospital and Bradford Regional Medical Center, member hospitals of UAHS.  

 

Dr. Fiorentino has been a member of the nursing faculty at Pitt-Bradford since 1985 and served as Director of Nursing & Radiological Science for 22 years. In her role as Director of the Center for Rural Health Practice, Dr. Fiorentino identifies rural health issues and collaborates with local communities and faculty and staff, serving as the rural health point of contact within the University of Pittsburgh system to address rural health issues and formulate policy recommendations.  Dr. Fiorentino instructs undergraduate nursing education and general education courses, engaged in the development, administration and management of the undergraduate programs in nursing and radiological science, and had oversight of five nursing national accreditations spanning 25 years.  She is active in the local-regional community and has worked collaboratively with the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing in order to advance the education and practice of nursing in North Western Pennsylvania.

 

 “We are thrilled to have Lisa join the UAHS board.  I know that her extensive experience and insight that will provide tremendous benefits to the board and UAHS as a whole,” said Brenda McGee, chair of the UAHS Board of Directors.  “She embodies the spirit of our hospitals and communities and brings a wealth of talent and energy to the table. We are very fortunate to recruit her to our Board as we continue to strengthen healthcare delivery in our region,” she said.

 

“I am pleased and excited to be joining the Upper Allegheny Health System Board,” Dr. Fiorentino said.  “As an educator and academic administrator engaged in health care in Northwestern Pennsylvania for the past 31 years, it is my hope to bring a variety of perspectives to the ever-changing dynamics of the U.S. healthcare system. I am committed to quality health and health approaches locally, regionally and globally that will significantly impact the health of individuals and communities,” she said. 

 

Dr. Fiorentino is active in numerous community organizations. She is currently a board member of the Bradford Hospital Auxiliary and recently served as a member of the steering committee for the Bradford Regional Medical Center Community Health Needs Assessment.
