Pavilion at BRMC earns additional five star rating

Posted on: 04/30/2018

Earlier this month, The Pavilion at Bradford Regional Medical Center learned it had earned a five-star rating in quality from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid’s Nursing Home Compare. Last week, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid informed the Pavilion that the facility’s rating has been adjusted from a four star to a five star score in overall rating.

“While we were happy with the five star score for quality, this latest revelation came as a pleasant surprise and we are thrilled to be recognized with the top nursing homes in Pennsylvania in the overall rating,” said Tracy Colosimo, Pavilion administrator.

The publically reported data helps consumers compare more than 15,000 nursing homes certified by Medicare and Medicaid in the U.S., based on categories including overall rating, quality measures and health inspections. The Pavilion received a five-star quality rating and four stars in health inspections.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services developed Nursing Home Compare and the star rating system to provide the public with a means to search nursing home facilities and view the quality each provides. The data comes for CMS’s health inspection database, a national database of resident clinical data known as the minimum data set and Medicare claims data.

“Quality and safety is our hospital’s priority focus and our staff takes that responsibility very seriously, which is reflected in the ratings from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. We work hard every day to provide the best quality care to each and every resident,” said Timothy J. Finan, president, chief executive officer, Upper Allegheny Health System, Bradford Regional Medical Center, Olean General Hospital.

The Pavilion is a 95-bed skilled nursing facility that provides short term rehabilitation and post-surgery care as well as long term care for patients, including those with dementia, Alzheimer’s or other illnesses that require 24-hour nursing care.
